THE BEACH BECKONS

With a run of fine sunny warm weather the rashies and togs are out of the cupboard and we have hit the beach running!

The surf has been good enough to try out the new boogie boards.  Tulle was flying and Rori was dumped, but she saddled up again and hit the waves.

Who needs a boogie board when you have a Cat truck!

The birds came out to play too!

And I sat back and enjoyed the whole scene :)

Bring on summer!

OUR BEACH

After dinner we headed over the road to the beach - some of us walked! One of us took a ride.

But not for long, Nash hit the ground running and pretty much didn't stop

He explored the creek

Threw rocks into the creek for Beau to find

Played in the sand

Raced Abba up the beach

There was another storm brewing

It didn't stop the fishermen from coming out

Or the boats

The storm finally hit around 4am and is still raging - a lot of rain which is making it muggy. Feels more like tropical Queensland these days than our usual hot dry!

AT THE FIRST HINT OF SUMMER

.....and summer is still two months away, we head to the beach.

Just to dig and make castles and play at water's edge!
Then they heard the call!
That call of the ocean that beckons
Girls and their surf boards!!
Only one was strong enough to
Take the ocean's cold water

and small waves on!

But she said that is was worth it.
And by the smile, I'd say it definitely was :)

A WINTER BEACH WALK

I love the ocean, the beach the waves, I love it in all seasons.

A few weeks ago after a visit with Auntie Bev, our family historian who had some awesome photos of the boat wreck that is almost directly out front of our house, I decided to check it out for myself.

Allan was working on his boat as I left!

It was a beautiful winter's day, sunny and calm with a high tide.
Some parts of the wreck were visible, but there was a huge build up of sand, so only some bits were visible, unlike the photos AB has.

Then I wandered on photographing other pretty, natural seaside and beach side bits n pieces. Admiring the beauty of natures simple thing.
Cuttlefish skeleton
Sponge
Seaweed
Even the kelp is beautiful

Pebbles
Shells
And then this!!

What we humans are doing to our beautiful environment :(
Plastic food bag

Plastic lid
Rope
More plastic

And leaving the best for last
