HOW DOES OUR GARDEN GROW

Quite well at the moment actually and here is one of our tomato plants flowering nicely!
Peach and nectarine trees ready to plant
and our very first tomato of the season. We are going slowly at the moment trying to work out what will grow in this salty air. Looks like tomatoes will be ok!

We have had to replant the grasses at the front of the house, they get the full blast from the Southern Ocean. These we have been ASSURED will survive!

Allan got to work with the replacement job.

With his little helper right alongside!

While we were planting I came across a couple of little self seeded currant bushes, these are one of the few that I know will survive in this environment because most of the wind break is made up of currant bush.

So we packed up our supplies and headed next door to B & Bs house. B & B know all about successful gardening by the seaside and Auntie B also has several currant bush seedlings to pot for us.

Then home again after a feed of big fat juicy cherries from Yahl to see the planting complete!

In one section at least :)
