BEAU DOG'S EXPERIENCE

This photo of a handsome old Staffy was taken just the day before the 'experience'! Just sitting out front watching the world go by and Tulle flying her kite - ho hum, ho hum.........read on! The very next day he was looking a lot less bright and interested in the world. He was on antibiotics and experiencing doggie morphine to help him get about.
How many dogs would you know of that had experienced a sting ray barb? This is the first I've heard and the incident should never have happened! Beau loves the beach and makes a regular trips for a swim or to catch up with mates! A fisherman had caught a sting ray and left it on the beach alive and obviously very angry, Beau went to investigate the creature and ended up with the barb piercing him. Fortunately there were some very caring people nearby and our neighbour who is a "first responder" treated him immediately, controlled the bleeding which was spurting from the wound. So a trip to the vet and a few stiches later he is receiving lots of love and attention, especially form our Tulle girl who loves animals.

The end - and a happy ending too, we were very worried for a while !
