WHAT IS IT WITH FIRE TRUCKS & US IN THE USA?

Go back to July 1996, Downtown San Francisco, middle of the night, sirens, firetrucks and cops on the street right outside our hotel in Union Square. What did I do, go out onto the fire escape to see what all the noise and excitement was! Wow, there was a fire somewhere. I grabbed my camera and snapped some pics to show how the folks back home (when I took the film from my and had it processed). Very soon we were evacuated, the fire was in the stairwell of OUR HOTEL!!

Fast forward to real time and 6.30am this morning, we were awoken by our hotel alarm and an announcement that they were investigating the source and to " Stand By" This was quickly followed by the sound of sirens and the prompt arrival of 3 fire trucks outside our hotel. Fortunately, no evacuation, trucks left and all is well!

Interesting to reflect on our individual first responses:
Allan:
Check the corridor to see if anyone else was about, in his jocks! Grab wallet and stuff from safe ready for evacuation, still in jocks.
Me:
Brush hair, get dressed, grab camera to record event

All clear given:
Allan: back to bed, snoring
Me: grab iPad post event

So, Hi from NYC, the city that never sleeps, and if you do happen to go to sleep, somehow it will wake you up!

We have been so so busy, I haven't had the time to blog, but today we are expecting some pretty big storms, expecting thunderstorms with lightning, PLUS 90 degrees F, so I might be taking shelter in the nearest Starbucks and try to catch up! Our plans of wandering through Greenwich Village today may be on hold, might have to check out a matinee Broadway show instead,

Last Night we Went to a Circe de Soleil show at Radio City Hall, it was AMAZING, so was the theatre.

Bebacksoonxxx with a photo or two hopefully, having a problem uploading with my trusty new app!
