The rendering has commenced.

Most of the
blueboard has been rendered and hopefully tomorrow the
renderer will be back rendering!

The
gyprock walls are all up and this guy is making pretty patterns on the
gyprock.

In other technical words, I've forgotten exactly what he is doing with the plaster (I think it is plaster he is using)

The heating panels are in the ceiling and the guys are shooting it all in place!

We have chosen radiant ceiling heating, not a common
phenomena in our area but big in Europe and I really hope it works because I'm a cold fish and it will be the first time without wood heating for nearly 25 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sparkies have all but finished.

The insulation all in up and done.

........and we found blackberries in our backyard and over the fence. Blackberries are a noxious weed and have to be destroyed by law or you're in BIG trouble. It has taken years to "almost" erradicate them from these parts and lots of other parts! I hope to pick these few little berries before we have to DESTROY this cutie little bush :(

This is the vista from our garage! The pile of special sand gives us hope that the renderer will be on deck tomorrow. Just imagine, that pile of sand will make its permanent home on the exterior of our house!

Stay tuned for the next installment:
THE RETAINING WALL THAT ALLAN BUILT!!
The water tanks arrived last week - man they are huge - we use a lot of water :)

That's Tulle in front of the tanks. We had just come up from being totally wiped out on the beach and I'm serious here! We went for a surf, the weather changed in a heartbeat, the sea was under the ute, surfboards, crocs, thongs (the kind that you wear on your feet), deck chairs and kids all went in a huge surge of surf. We high tailed it out of there REALLY REALLY quickly. I had to wait for the sea to draw back to be able to turn the ute around to make our escape!!!
But I digress!
Allan and Uncle Bruce setting the verticle bits ready for the horizontal bits.

Hole digger and tractor courtesy Uncle Bruce. Uncle Bruce is Allan's uncle and they are very alike :)

The shot below is a very special pic - it shows how true the four posts have been lined up. Can you tell that there are 4 posts there? Nope - that's how good they are lined up. Uncle Bruce is very particular with his lining up - that's not exactly a trait that he share's with his nephew!

Here's my strong man......

He carried all of those sleepers

each and every one of them..................

(They are very heavy!)

Very very heavy............I couldn't even lift an end up even the tinies bit!

And placed it securely ready to fix with a huge bolt.

This is what girls do when thier grandad is building a retainer wall and they have just chased their surfboards up the beach!

Grandad keeps working.

And makes a really great wall to house those huge water tanks

See the pom below? That's me with my hand on the shovel. I'm the site supervisor - I didn't shovel, I came along well into the job and asked a few questions ? ? ? The questions were not meant to be criticisms and I was told to 'shut up or shovel off"!!!
I shut up!Note to self: Ditch bra!! :)
