LEAVING MANHATTAN

A summary of our trip:
Arrived Monday and started the madness and fun that is NYC. We have been on boats, taxis and buses and have seen as much as we physically could have in four days and nights. We have seen and talked with people from almost every corner of this earth of ours. New York has 8 million people in all five boroughs and 3.5 million of those live on the island of Manhattan. We were told that 48 percent of these people were born outside of the
USA!! The people of NY have been friendly, helpful, patient and fun.
We have seen or visited:
Ground Zero,
Statue of Liberty
Top of the Rock, Rockefeller Centre for day views of Manhattan
Empire State Building for night views, waiting in line time 2 hours
Wall Street Financial District
Seaport at the very end of the island
Radio City Hall an amazing huge theatre to see the amazing Circe de Soliel
Times Square, several times, day and night, this seems to be the great meeting place of Manhattan, crazy with action 24/7!
Central Park, the lungs of Manhattan
Harlem, Queens, Brooklyn - none as scary as portrayed in the tv shows!
Bodies, an amazing display showing how the human body works using real human bodies. It was a bit uncomfortable the first few minutes but soon became intrigued with it all.
Madam Tussauds wax museum, it was fabulous, we didn't expect to enjoy it as much as we did!
Museum of Native American Indians
Toured the island by boat, by bus, by foot - feet still recovering
Worked out how to navigate by the streets and avenues, it all makes sense after the first day, you really can't get lost - a great way to set up city streets
Lunch in China Town
THE BEST CUPCAKES in the world from Magnolia Bakery
Rode the Brooklyn Bridge, Holland Tunnel under the river between New Jersey and Manhattan, Queens Tunnel to JFK Airport
