A Christmas gift from Uncle Adam Auntie Bron Nash & Chase resulted in hours of fun making a robot, a rocket ship complete with docking station and a rather cute alien.
It's great to see the girls take on the models in the book.
It's also great to see what they can make out of recycled 'stuff'.
When I was a kid my mum had a huge jar of assorted buttons. I loved to play with that jar of buttons,
sorting by colours and sizes and shapes.
Most of the buttons in those days were taken from items of clothing that we owned and were ready for the rag bag. Buttons and zips were always removed to be recycled elsewhere.
I started doing the same thing but sadly I'm not such a good recyler as the previous generation.
Most of my buttons come from clothing purchased that now have a spare or two to replace those darned buttons
that seem to be attached by just one thread and come loose within the first wash!
Those buttons did add some life to the little creatures, along with toilet rolls,
egg cartons, silver foil, pipe cleaners and take away containers!
