THE WATER HAS FINALLY REACHED US

Not in anyway shape or form like the floods up north although Western Victoria has several towns in really bad shape. It has rained steadily here for the past two days and in particular last night. We drove home from town around 10ish and White Avenue was almost entirely underwater, a 4wd had stalled in the middle of the road and a couple of guys were trying to push them out of trouble. We stopped and Allan added some muscle with another extra as well and soon had them on their way. It was a very slow ride home with water on both sides of the road most of the way.

My sister sent me these photos of the Cave Gardens which is right in the heart of town - can't give credit to the photographer as I don't know who it was, but the pics are great. The amount of water flowing into the caves at this time of year is usually a trickle to none, so this shows the amount of water coming off the streets. Quite a few roads were totally flooded in the cbd and there were a few homes flooded also, again, nothing like Qld.

We have a lot of water lying around the Bay and our wetlands at the back of the house are very wet again. Will try to post some pics soon.
