RANDOM PICS FROM OUR QUEENSTOWN NZ HOLIDAY

This was such a 'holiday'. Normally our 'holidays' are busy and a bit adventurous, but this one I could repeat over and over again - Ground Hog Day would be most welcome :)

Our divine accommodation - ground floor - you can just make out Maree behind the shrub!

The views beautiful no matter what direction your eyes wandered.

Time spent on this balcony was relaxing delicious and healing.

Time spent on the couches were the same!

The entrance to one of the many restaurants and cafes on the lake front.

On the Earnslaw heading across the lake to Walter Peake for a BBQ lunch and more relaxation.

Arriving at Walter Peake:
The homestead is large and most beautiful and we enjoyed a buffet BBQ under the large umbrellas right out front with Lake Wakatipu as our back drop.

Delicious NZ lamb was the first item to hit my plate!

The gardens colourful and immaculate.

Introducing 'Sarge' the border collie. He was trembling with anticipation of rounding up the sheep!

And here they come, he raced up the hillside and brought them down at a fast pace!
Bringing them into the yards, Lindsay the shepherd put Sarge through his paces, directing him with the softest of whistles.
The sheep are Merino and live in the high country producing the finest of wool. Lindsay took the fleece off in one piece, obviously done a lot of shearing in his day.

Then on to Shona who demonstrated how, after the wool wash washed, it was spun for knitting etc.

Good job Shona!
