IT MUST BE IN THE GENES

Is this a future Hockeyroo? Just remember - You read about it right here!Little cousins Rebecca and Rachel are both junior sporting champions with a list of credits and medals to their names already!!

Above (the photo of Rebecca) and below (the article on Rebecca).

The article also features another girl but I've taken those details out regarding the other girl for her privacy The article is courtesy of "The Berwick Leader", their local paper in Berwick Victoria.

From the sounds of things it wont be long before Rachel stars in the paper also.......read on.......

They might not be teenagers yet, but watching the Hockeyroos at the Olympics has sharpened the resolve of Rebecca Guy and.............

They too want to represent their country, and the duo are on the right track.

Both have been selected for the Victorian Under 14s girls indoor side, to compete in the state titles on the Central Coast in January.

Guy, 12, is a talented all-round sportsperson, having also represented Victoria as a race walker. She won a bronze medal at state level, before finishing 12th in the national championships held on August 24.

But her first love is hockey, and she is thrilled at the prospect of donning the navy blue of Victoria.

“It’s really exciting,” she said.

“I didn’t expect to make it, because the first week I was sick for the trials. The second week I just tried my hardest.”

A Berwick resident who prefers playing in defence for club side Casey, Guy is also in the midst of trials for the Under 12 Victorian Schoolgirls side.

She hopes one day to play for the Hockeyroos at the Olympics, which is a dream shared by Anderson. The Koo-wee-rup schoolgirl is also a defender, and plays her club hockey for Mornington.

WE HOPE SO TOO REBECCA!

PS She did make the State Side. (Reported today by her proud dad Andrew!)
