STEVE'S BIG NIGHT

A couple of weeks ago we enjoyed an entertaining evening and meal at a Liberal Party event. After the meal came question time and the pollies and polly to be lined up at the ready.

At the podium Mitch Williams, Member for McKillop (our next door neighbour seat).

Steve here with leader of the State Liberal Party Martin Hamilton Smith.
Along with Nick Michin Federal Minister for something !! and Patrick Secker our Federal Member.
It all looks serious but it was a great night, fun and informative. A great experience for Steve as his campaign gathers speed.

NASH AND THE BALL

This is Nash's big ball..........
He spends hours pushing it around the house............This is Nash's little ball, he spends hours doing the same thing..........
Sometimes he pushes both balls around the room.......
Crawl...
Tap...
Swipe....
He keeps himself occupied for ages, if he can't find his ball, he will grab whatever is closest and toss it! Last week, it was a can of dog food (full with the lid on!). I just love watching him do this very unique thing :)

CATCH UP BLOGS

I've been away awhile so the catch up posts will not be in any semblance of order. Starting with a POM - yep still going with the poms but have decided it's physically impossible for me to keep up with one a day, so I'll aim for one a week with the occasional bonus - a bonus for who you ask? You of course!

This is me and a newish student from Argentina, his name is Santi (short for Santiago) and he's a sweetheart. We spend a couple of hours a week together, me helping him with English and me improving my very basic Spanish. Scrabble is a bit of a challenge and occasionally I allow him to use a Spanish word, but only if I know what the word is! Santi has graduated from 2 and 3 letter words to a 4 letter average and occasionally 5 and 6. As you can see the Spanish dictionary is still needed when charades and a drawing for explanation just doesn't cut it :)

BAIE'S FIRST GAME OF NETBALL

I can't tell how much I loved watching her play her very first game of netball. She's long lean and 8 years old - the perfect age to start netball. She was nervous and excited and though started in defence she got to play her favourite position - goal attack.
Before the game!Game on....

They played an older and more experienced side and the scores reflected this - but...
No matter! She did an excellent job.
Made great position and really enjoyed the whole experience! It's a great little team. Don't those uniforms look too cute?

Half time chat with the coach.
Then back into the game.
I didn't catch in on camera - but she shot a goal much to our excitement (and hers too I think!)

PS I started playing netball at the age of 8 - unfortunately not long and lean! But loved the game and played until I was 40 and the ankles would let me play no more :(

Time to Return

Well it's been over two weeks since I last blogged and a little bit more since Nick was diagnosed. Nick and co have been on a roller coaster of treatment and emotions. After a chat with sister and bil (that's Nick the brotherinlaw) tonight I feel , hmm don't know what to call it, not better, but ?? don't know what!! Let's call it better, better for Nick, better for Sandie, better for Sophie, better for his situation :)

Nick is incredibly positive and is just ready for the doctors to "bring it on" whatever it takes, just do it. So thank you all for your prayers and support and keep it comin!

Tomorrow we leave the farm - sniff :( I've loved our time here but it's the interim move on to the shack, beach front at the Bay before our house is finished. Tonight I'm packing the small stuff, we hauled the bigger stuff last weekend. We have a hot blazing fire toasting us up and that's what I'm going to miss the most.

When we have the computer set up again I'll do some catching up.

Seeya soon xx
