THE GOOD NEWS - WE CAN HAVE A PUPPY!

The phone call came and the news was good! Better go wake Miss B and tell her!! "Mummy says we can have the puppy!" Miss B was having a bit of a late awake and it took a little time for it to sink in!But T was already making plans............Now, what do we call the puppy? Lets start a list!
Then in the afternoon it was off to Uncle Adam's to pick him up (and play with the other puppies while they were there!)

"He's so tute Nan"..(translation: He's so cute Nan)!

And finally a goodbye between Mum Jazz and puppy (yet to be named!)

How Much Is That Puppy.......................?

"Nanny, isn't that face adorable" T's words last night while cuddling this gorgeous little puppy. And how could you not agree - that is an adorable little face! And just look at that face - she's in heaven!
It was a bit of a circus for a few minutes when we arrived home to find the puppy had come for a visit but.........
We soon worked out a system and the three girls got to hold the puppy for a time each.

He was very much love and cuddled and patted and smothered! And all things considered ie one tiny puppy v three very excited little girls, he held up very well. He was very gentle and well behaved and just tooooooo cute!

OUR GORGEOUS NASH 6 WEEKS OLD

I know I know! It's been a while between photos, but here are the latest of Nash, taken just a few hours ago. He now weighs almost 10lbs, at his last weigh in a few days ago he was 9lb 13oz.

Eyes are still blue!

And hair still blonde!

Six weeks old and bright eyed - he was really on high beam tonight! He has been a smiler since the day he was born, but we could only prise one from him tonight and of course it wasn't when the camera was ready. It wont be long before we capture one on film though, but who needs smiles when you've got eyes like this?

But before long he had finished his tucker and straight off to sleep again.
Don't you love it when they are sound asleep with hands thrown back like this?

LIFE ON "THE BLOCK"

We are spending more time on what is affectionately know as "The Block", that is of course our little piece of land that we are about to build our new home on.

On "The Block" today there was a little progress and that was the preparation of the slab for Allan's work shed. See photos below!

On "The Block" today we all checked out the progress of the swans in our pond, swamp, wetland or whatever it's called on the day. Today it was the swamp, though I would much prefer wetland, it has a much more sophisticated ring to it than the SWAMP! Nevertheless, we checked the progress and I'm not sure if there was any! The swans are leading us on a bit of a dance at the moment.

T & R doing a bit of bird watching....

We have 2 big beautiful black swans who have built the very large nest and we see them coming and going and sitting - and we wait in anticipation for the 'ugly ducklings' to appear. A couple of weeks ago, Allan and I became very excited when we saw two big swans and two little wee swans floating in our WETLANDS! Upon closer inspection we realised it was a couple of little black ducks visiting the swans and were most disappointed that they were not the little hatchlings.

Note to self for future reference: Cygnets are not black they are greyish whitishy kind off!
Anyway we are waiting patiently to see if anything appears, hope so!

BUTT! - moving right along.....
Doesn't that just 'crack' you up!

Okay, so back to the business of preparing a slab!

There's digging....
And laying of orange plastic.......
And putting down great big grids of stuff...........

The snipping the great big grids of stuff in certain places .....And standing on orange plastic so it doesn't blow away (in the gale force wind of the day) before it can be held down by great big grids of stuff!
Then there's the apprentices who were the only ones sensible enough to get out of the wind and direct from the ute windows!

Although some time was spent in the rough - lots of fun to be had on a building site and no toys necessary.

All of the above of course....Needs a site manager - and that happens to be ME! Holding that coffee was jolly hard work - considering my back injury and all!!! Something Allan has yet to come to terms with! I am usually his go'fer! But today all I could go 'fer was my coffee!! Though, come to think of it, standing on that orange plastic took some doing!

I know what you're thinking? "Can't wait for the next update!"

She's A Delight

Everything she does is with delight! A simple painting after breakfast.
Her concentration, remembering to clean the brush between colours.
And enjoyment of the simple things in life!
Every colour is her favourite...........
She especially likes that blue.

KYLIE BOMBYLIE AND DICK

You may remember an odd photo and occasional post to this blog from our Gold Coast holiday earlier in the year? "Yes!" I hear you say, you do recall something?

Well, meant to post these a loooooooooooooong time ago (so here you go Ky, at at last, the photo's you have been asking for!

B'Lewie and Al

The Kencho's have been friends of ours for a looooooooooooong time too - we've been in Kylie's life as long as she has been alive! Allan is K's godfather, I'll see if I can find a photo of that event to post also.
Allan and Dave worked together in their teens in the now 'defunct' Bank of Adelaide (I think that's the one) it was never the same after those two were employed - that's another story or stories, and you need a long evening and a few beers to enjoy them!

Our trip to the GC was the perfect opportunity to catch up with them after a few years. It was great to be able to spend time with you all, wish we could do it more often!!!

IT MUST BE IN THE GENES

Is this a future Hockeyroo? Just remember - You read about it right here!Little cousins Rebecca and Rachel are both junior sporting champions with a list of credits and medals to their names already!!

Above (the photo of Rebecca) and below (the article on Rebecca).

The article also features another girl but I've taken those details out regarding the other girl for her privacy The article is courtesy of "The Berwick Leader", their local paper in Berwick Victoria.

From the sounds of things it wont be long before Rachel stars in the paper also.......read on.......

They might not be teenagers yet, but watching the Hockeyroos at the Olympics has sharpened the resolve of Rebecca Guy and.............

They too want to represent their country, and the duo are on the right track.

Both have been selected for the Victorian Under 14s girls indoor side, to compete in the state titles on the Central Coast in January.

Guy, 12, is a talented all-round sportsperson, having also represented Victoria as a race walker. She won a bronze medal at state level, before finishing 12th in the national championships held on August 24.

But her first love is hockey, and she is thrilled at the prospect of donning the navy blue of Victoria.

“It’s really exciting,” she said.

“I didn’t expect to make it, because the first week I was sick for the trials. The second week I just tried my hardest.”

A Berwick resident who prefers playing in defence for club side Casey, Guy is also in the midst of trials for the Under 12 Victorian Schoolgirls side.

She hopes one day to play for the Hockeyroos at the Olympics, which is a dream shared by Anderson. The Koo-wee-rup schoolgirl is also a defender, and plays her club hockey for Mornington.

WE HOPE SO TOO REBECCA!

PS She did make the State Side. (Reported today by her proud dad Andrew!)

WHO WOULD..............

Who would leave me a plastic cup of freshly picked flowers? Tucked inside the back door.
Who would scatter rose petals on the verandah?
Who would do a pretty chalk drawing on the cement?
Who would leave pink dancing shoes by the back door?

and well used buckets and spades in the courtyard - waiting for summer!
Leave Simba the lion sitting on the unmade bed?
(I think there are better things to do than make beds when the girls come for a stay)
Use craft box of "stuff" and a sticky tape dispenser in the corner of the kitchen for hours of fun cutting and pasting and drawing and making?!
Who would have fun with a teddy that's being transported around on the laundry trolly.
T
R
......and B

That's Who!

Three little girls who bring all of this and much joy to me in just one day!
